Schlapp has never strayed from her mission, and has collaborated closely with White House policy and political teams. The first few months, Schlapp is focusing on safety at school concerns, addiction infrastructure, trade and drug issues. Schlapp's current job doesn't involve any contact with journalists. There was a great deal of attention from the media when she was identified as the candidate for replacing Hope Hicks, the communications director. It hasn't been a pleasant fight. Schlapp has sided with Tony Sayegh who was also an aspirant. They began sparring in media.
